Welcome to the fourth annual Ace for a Cure at Wilmington Country Club. This tennis outing is a grass court tennis event like none other in Delaware. The round robin, doubles format tennis event is played on the beautiful grounds of Wilmington Country Club.

Morning tennis is followed by a luncheon, raffle and awards for Flight winners. All levels of play are welcomed to attend and doubles players are divided into two levels: Flight A (4.0 and above) and Flight B (3.5 and below).

Linda Rudnick chaired the first Delaware event in 2014, and since then Ace for a Cure at Wilmington Country Club has raised $78,500 locally for type 1 diabetes research. Linda, the Ace for a Cure Committee and JDRF Delaware look forward to welcoming participants, sponsors and guests this summer for our fourth event on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

JDRF exists for the millions of children, adults, and families affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) every single day. Their determination to overcome this disease strengthens ours to end it by funding life-changing T1D research.

T1D is an autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas loses the ability to produce insulin — a hormone essential to turning food into energy. It strikes both children and adults suddenly and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle. It requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on injected insulin.

Your participation in JDRF events ensures that JDRF can continue funding critical T1D research. With your support, this research will continue to bring us closer to a world without T1D.
