Some friends ask you to borrow clothes, some friends ask you to watch their kids while they run errands, my friend asked me to co-chair a gala to raise money to find a cure for her daughter’s type 1 diabetes. No big deal, right?! But, when Katie asked me to help her fundraising efforts I could not say no. So this year I am co-chairing the 17th Annual Hope Ball, benefiting the Delaware Chapter of JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). This year’s gala will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Hotel du Pont in Wilmington, Delaware with a “Finding A Cure in Onederland" theme.
Why am I doing this?? I do not have to care for a child with a potentially life threatening illness that requires around the clock monitoring, so I give my time to help those that do. I do not have extraordinary medical expenses, so I contribute money to help those that do. I do this in hopes that one day researchers will find a cure for type 1 diabetes and give Mairead (pictured) and children and adults like her, days free from needle sticks and glucose monitor site changes, and their loved ones days free from worry. Please support me in these efforts by donating to my campaign.
