The Hope Ball on April 29th will be my last day with JDRF. The main event of the night is our Fund A Cure. During this part of the night, a family (or families) that have been effected with T1D tell their story. Each year there is a different story to tell because a journey with T1D is never the same for any family or family member to family member. After the family tells their story we do a mock auction. People in the ballroom raise their bid cards at different monetary levels to donate money to JDRF. Now many times with non-profits, including JDRF, 100% of money raised does not completely go to a cure. JDRF is a high-functioning organization where $.81 from every dollar goes to research, and the other $.19 goes to things like paying employees and other administrative fees, but Fund A Cure is different. One hundred percent of every dollar donated to Fund A Cure goes directly to research. 100%!
As my final day as a JDRF employee, I would like to ask you to help me celebrate the wonderful time I have spent with JDRF and the exciting next step in my career by donating to my personal Fund A Cure campaign. I have set a goal of raising $1,000. I know not everyone can make a huge donation. If you can donate $5 that’s awesome, if you can donate more that’s awesome, too. Every dollar makes a difference.
