Hello Friends!
It's me again - yep, it's me again asking for a donation to support JDRF's type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. It's another request flooding your inbox or (hopefully) appearing on your Facebook news feed. But it's important - it's important to me and to my friends living every day with the struggles of managing their diabetes.
You may not know someone living with T1D, in fact I didn't know anyone until I came to JDRF nearly four years ago. But it didn't take me very long to begin to grasp the hardships of life with T1D. It's ONE call from a devastated parent of a newly diagnosed child; it's ONE coffee with an adult T1D who has described what T1D life was like 30 years ago and the complications they suffer today; it's ONE T1D friend who tells me the challenges and complications of having a baby; it's ONE single mom who had low blood sugar in the middle of the night and somehow made it to the kitchen in time to find glucose tabs before her blood sugar dropped dangerously low; in fact it's not just one but many stories I hear every day that demonstrate how important it is to help.
I love working for JDRF. I love meeting T1D families. I love hearing how JDRF's research advancements have helped or will help these families. I believe it's important to be passionate about helping each other, and I know JDRF's mission is one to get behind!
Please join me in supporting JDRF. No donation is too small or too great - and if you cannot donate today, perhaps you can join us at our Hope Ball (April 25) or Walk (October 25) to see for yourself why I am so passionate about JDRF.
Many thanks for your kindness & generosity,
Tarra
