About JDRF

JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.  JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D.  JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners and is the only organization with the scientific resources, regulatory influence, and a working plan to better treat, prevent, and eventually cure T1D. As the largest charitable supporter of T1D research, JDRF is currently sponsoring $568 million in scientific research in 17 countries. For more information, please visit www.jdrf.org.

Dear Friends and Family,

Please help me raise money for the 2015 JDRF Delaware Hope Ball Fund A Cure campaign. Fund A Cure is a unique opportunity to make a 100 percent tax-deductible donation to JDRF that will fund vital research to cure, better treat, and prevent T1D. Since 1994, JDRF has raised more than $211 million through Fund A Cure alone.

I have the privilege of working on the Hope Ball committee again this year.  Through my involvement with JDRF Delaware, I have met the most incredible people who have been affected by Type 1 Diabetes.  Whether having the disease themselves or being the mother, father, friend, sibling or child who gives support; they all work towards finding ways to live with a very difficult disease which affects every aspect of their lives.

I have watched my friends struggle after hearing the diagnosis - first to understand the disease; then to learn what needs to be done for their child, day in and day out, every single day for the rest of their lives; and finally to be able to let their child go forth in the world equipped with enough knowledge to survive.  I have been in awe of their strength, dedication and grace in dealing with their new reality.

It happens to be a very exciting time to be a part of JDRF as new treatments and technologies are being developed and implemented to help make the lives of T1D's just a little easier.  Most of the research is funded by the money JDRF raises.

I ask you to join me in donating to the cause. The 30+ committee members have been challenged to  raise $100 each.  Of course, I would love to raise more!  Your gift of $1, $5 or $10 (or even more, if you would like!) will be combined with all of the other gifts and together we can help fund the research to improve the lives of T1D's, prevent new cases and, one day, find a cure!

Thank you.

XOXO,

Rachel
