Dear Friends and Family,
As you many of you know, I became active JDRF when my son Sam (pictured left at the 2014 Hope Ball with his girlfriend) was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and have served on the JDRF Hope Ball Committee for eight years. JDRF’s Hope Ball is an extraordinary event that brings together more than 400 members of the community each year to raise thousands of dollars towards funding research to prevent, treat and ultimately cure T1D.
One of the most moving and meaningful parts of the evening is Fund A Cure. Fund A Cure is a unique opportunity to make a gift of any amount in support of JDRF’s mission. 100% of Fund A Cure donations support research and research-related education, allowing your dollars to make the highest impact on our path to a cure. Nationally, the Fund A Cure program has raised nearly $267 million for T1D research.
This year the members of the Hope Ball Committee have committed to making a Fund A Cure gift together. I know many of you have supported Sam’s Squad in the past but I am asking anyone who is able to please donate $10 and join me, Sam and the Hope Ball Committee in our efforts to support Fund A Cure.
More than 40 years ago a small group of parents in the Philadelphia area where brought together by a shared a common goal — to find a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D). Their conviction and determination built the cornerstone for JDRF, which has grown to be the leading global organization funding T1D research. Since its founding, JDRF has awarded $1.8 billion research.
A passionate group of volunteers is capable of incredible things when joined together for the greater good. It will be exciting to see how many people commit to supporting JDRF with me!
With sincere gratitude,
Jacki
